What is local lead generation?

It is the process of finding and engaging businesses in a geographic area that could benefit from your product or service.

For a managed IT provider, that might mean professional offices within a practical service radius. For a marketing agency, it could mean local trades with an outdated website or a weak enquiry process. The location narrows your territory; the business need makes the prospect relevant.

A business listing is a starting point rather than a qualified sales opportunity. Check that the company is operating, confirm the available contact details, and establish whether your offer addresses a real need before adding it to an outreach campaign.

Go from a territory to a useful conversation.

  1. 01

Define the area and the customer

Enter an address, choose a distance, and apply industry and business-size filters. Size is based on published employee information when available; unknown counts remain unknown.

  2. 02

Review the businesses on a map

Browse the matching list and select a business to see its location. Use contact, website and mobile-app filters to prioritize the businesses you want to inspect.

  3. 03

Check the business and its published people

Open a business brief to see when each detail was checked, research its website, and look for public services, leadership and professional contact information. Coverage varies, so a profile may have gaps.

  4. 04

    Prepare a relevant next step

Describe what you offer to create editable calling and email drafts. Save promising leads, add notes and follow-up dates, and use Prospector CSV exports to work with your CRM or spreadsheet.

Honest data, with the gaps kept visible.

LeadAtlas360 finds businesses across Canada and the US and adds what companies publish on their own websites. Some cities have richer local detail, such as published employee ranges or business activity, and coverage keeps growing.

Different fields come with different evidence: a mapped shop, a published employee range, or a leadership biography on a company website. Check the date on each field instead of treating every detail as equally current. Contact details and ownership information are not available for every business.

Search results reflect coverage and query limits. They are not a complete census of registered businesses, and a newly listed business is not necessarily newly opened.

Start small, then expand your workflow.

Common questions

Can I find local leads without paying?

Yes. Create an Explorer account to use the free monthly allowance. You can search locally, inspect the map, use discovery filters and save a small prospect list. Prospector adds larger allowances and features such as CSV exports.

Does LeadAtlas360 generate inbound enquiries?

LeadAtlas360 is a business discovery and prospecting tool. It helps you identify companies and prepare outreach. It does not guarantee inbound enquiries, meetings or sales. It emails prospects only when you start an email sequence from your own mailbox. Its optional AI calling can introduce your offer to new leads and follow up with existing ones, during business hours, once you start the calls.

Can it find the owner of every local business?

No. Business briefs can show leadership or professional contacts when they are published, for example on the company’s website. Some businesses do not publish this information. A named official is not automatically the owner, and an email address is not automatically a verified personal contact.

What should I do before contacting a prospect?

Check the details, confirm the business and contact details, and connect your offer to a specific need. Check the marketing and privacy requirements that apply to your audience and channel. A publicly visible address does not by itself establish permission to send promotional messages.
